The Dino 246 GT V6 L-series

The Dino 246 GT is a sports car by the car manufacturer Dino, a subsidiary of Ferrari, named in tribute to Dino Ferrari, son of Enzo, who died at the age of 23.

Despite its GT designation, the Ferrari Dino 246 remains very close in its design and driving experience to an authentic 1960s-1970s racing car. 

Although visually identical to the Dino 206 GT to the layperson, the 246 GT (Tipo 607L) succeeded it with various improvements, notably a larger engine (Tipo 236L). Its dry-sump, twin-spark, quad-overhead-camshaft V6 engine is directly derived from Ferrari competition cars, where it excelled with just 1,600 cc.

This engine, which Enzo Ferrari would reluctantly agree to supply to another manufacturer to power the no-less-legendary Lancia Stratos, propelled the Dino 246 up to 150 mph and allowed it to complete the 0-62 mph sprint in just over 7 seconds. These figures are still worthy of a true modern sports car.

Our example from the L-series is among the rarest and most sought-after. Only 355 units of the L-series were produced.

It comes with its Ferrari Classiche certificate and features a remarkably low mileage.

Completely original, it is in mint condition.

Considered apart in the Ferrari chronology, the Dino 206 and 246 GT coupés enjoy a strong following. Today subject to speculation, they practically claim the status of a work of art and their market value is soaring like that of a master painting.
