The Jaguar E-Type 3.8 Convertible

Presented at the 1961 Geneva International Motor Show, the Jaguar E-Type succeeded the XK series. Production spanned from 1961 to 1975 and was available in three models (convertible, coupé, and 2+2), three series, and two limited editions.

The Type E, while recalling the Jaguar Type D in terms of its lines, was a very modern design for its time.

It was aerodynamicist Malcolm Sayer who designed it, under the supervision of William Lyons. 

Evolutions and modifications will be numerous throughout the model's life, to improve performance, safety, comfort, ease of use, or for regulatory reasons, particularly in the United States, its main market. 

She is considered by all – including Enzo Ferrari himself – as one of the most beautiful automobiles of all time.
