The models developed on the VH platform at Aston Martin in the 2000s and 2010s are a striking proof that automotive design has not stagnated in the 20th century but continues to evolve with elegance and innovation.
Therefore, the second-generation Vanquish, launched as the flagship model in the range, combined aggressive power with timeless elegance.
The famous Italian coachbuilder Zagato then collaborated with Aston Martin to create four exceptional carbon fiber bodies for the Vanquish: a coupe, a convertible, a Speedster and a Shooting Brake.
Like the Joconde, these cars were created by adhering to the «golden ratio» to achieve perfect proportions..
Of these four models, it is the latter that arouses the most interest and desire. Beyond the elongated interior, the aesthetic modifications include three-dimensional «Z» patterns integrated into the grille and rear grille, while the LED tail lights in the shape of blades are directly inspired by the Vulcan, a car reserved for the track.
Equipped with the improved propulsion system of the Vanquish S model, the Zagato Shooting Brake combines power and elegance. Its 5925 cm3 V12 atmospheric engine, emblematic of the brand, is housed under a revised body and develops 584 horsepower, transmitted to the rear wheels thanks to the third generation of the Touchtronic eight-speed gearbox, controlled by paddles on the steering wheel.
Only 99 copies of the Shooting Brake were produced, Including the one presented here. Dressed in an elegant black Zagato shade, its exterior features sporty rims with complex design and carbon touches on the grille and side panels. This refined palette continues inside, with black leather upholstery in intense orange and orange accents, complemented by a gradient «Z» quilting on the seats and door panels. The center of the steering wheel, the air vents and the controls on the «Waterfall» fascia are also highlighted by carbon finishes. The panoramic roof, the exterior and interior underbody panels, and the trunk compartment also feature a subtle blend of matte and glossy carbon fiber, enhancing the elegance and sportiness of this unique model.
