The Ferrari 458 Italia V8

The Ferrari 458 Italia is considered one of the most beautiful Ferraris in history.

The first two digits of its name indicate the engine displacement (4.5 litres) and the last one, the number of cylinders (8). The name «Italia», succeeding «Modena» and «Maranello», recalls the brand’s geographical origins.

The 458 Italia is powered by a 4.5-litre naturally aspirated V8 engine, with a specific output of 125 horsepower per litre (95 kW per litre), a very high figure for a V8 engine. It has undergone extensive aerodynamic refinement to achieve high speeds and is equipped with electronic driver aids.

The engine of the 458 GTB is a 4.5-litre V8 displacing 562 bhp at 9,000 rpm, with a maximum torque of 540 Nm at 6000 rpm. The seven-speed gearbox is fitted with a dual-clutch. The official figures provided by Ferrari are 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 10.4 seconds, and a top speed of over 325 km/h.
